Semi-IC, Semi-OOC: Patient Information

Dr. John Smith has been practicing medicine in Dustdevil for about four months now. On this particular day, however, he has no patients scheduled and isn't particularly expecting any emergencies to occur, so he's attempting to organize his patient files into a better order. In the process, he's reacquainting himself with the information contained in each of them...

Anyone else would be bored stiff, or pruriently titillated. Or both, in alternation... or possibly even at the same time. The good doctor, on the other hand, is too busy being thorough and precise to be either.

((OOC: So... has your character been treated by Dr. Smith since his arrival in town? What for? What kind of medical information will he have in his charts? Have they been sick, have they been injured, has their name been mentioned by someone who was injured under suspicious circumstances? Etc. Important rule regarding this information -- the only ones who have any IC knowledge about the patient histories are Dr. Smith and the patient in question. If any of you are worried about OOC information migrating into IC play, let me know and I will screen your reply so that only you and I can see it. Please post a reply with info, if you want to have a "medical history" with the Doctor prior to the start of the game; it'll give us both something to refer to and be "on the same page" about. Or, if you intend for your character to eventually become a patient, please post as well, that way we can handwave tedious bits where he asks for medical history and the like, but he can still make diagnoses that aren't any quackier than 19th-century medicine normally was. ;) TY!))

Martel has been a patient for minor things! A burn that he didn't like to bandage himself (it being on his right arm) and he might have discussed difficulty getting to sleep with the Doctor and eventually not actually taken any of his advice. He has some scarring (...not from the burn, rather, in general), but not really anything he'd have needed to make Dr Smith aware of.

Ingrid has not been a patient, but probably will be sooner or later, being as she is a child & they're somewhat prone to accidents and illness.

[ooc]Johnathan hasn't really had any health issues in the all of two months he's been in Dustdevil.

In upcoming months he might not adjust to snow particularly well, though I don't know if it'll be bad enough to become a health concern. There will be headaches and bouts of insomnia, though the former is mostly a side effect of his profession.

[ooc]Amelia, unlike her husband, probably has been to see him often enough. Generally, for splinters and various knocks from climbing trees and whatnot.

Pippa herself has likely not been a patient since childhood (she was sent away to finishing school and has remained in New York until recently), but her mother has taken quite ill (and is possibly something of a hypochondriac) with things ranging from general malaise to simply feeling faint today. I am sure the doctor has a fat file with a list of 'sufferings' Mrs. Kerr has endured.

He may find himself the recipient of some visits from Pippa who has been charged with acting as a nursemaid and caregiver for the elder Kerr. (hint: she may realize half of her mother's illnesses are for show, but far be it from her to actually confront the woman)

[ooc]Violet will not come to see you unless she's on her death bed and unconscious at the time.

She would be highly offended if you had any information on her, at all.
